Default RSR Half downs

so I currently have RSR downs and I have 19x9.5//19x10.5. I want to sell the springs and install RSR half downs so I can fit bigger tires on the rear wheels. has anyone else done this?

I have Velgen VMB5.

there a couple of members that have half downs on 19's. that would be the route I would go if I was going to lower my car. I'm hoping to get my 19's soon, but will not be lowering my car. I believe there's a half down thread some where in these forums. try looking for it cause using the search function will bring up EVERY lexus gen.

Herer's a 3is on RSR downs with a 245-35-19 & 275-30-19 , it had a slight rub with passengers, however i think with the half downs you shouldn't have a problem. What tire brand and size are you running ?

im currently running continentals DW.

265/30 in the rear, I want to run a 285/30 on the half downs. looking at the picture you posted the car is running 275/30 with the downs. Don't think i'll have too much issue running a 285/30 with the half downs.

I'm on half downs with 19's but stock width tires. Rims are 19 X 8 and 19 X 9.5. Tires are 225/3519 and 255/30 19. I took before pics and measurements but I've been too lazy to take afters. Maybe in the next couple days. The drop is pretty subtle but no worries about rubbing on my tires. I've had 4 full grown men in the car with no problem.

I'm facing the same issue. I want new wheels (19's or 20's), but I want to lower my AWD IS. That said, I need to go with stretched tires if I go with either 19s or 20s. I have better chances of getting away with 19s and some meaty tires (235 35 or 245 35 19 and 265 30 or 275 30 19. Dropping on RSR Downs as Half Downs aren't available for AWD.

you don't have to go w/ stretched tires on 19's if the wheels aren't WIDE. the 19" velgen rear set up is 10.5" wide and can be wrapped with 265 rubber. as stated, the pic above is wrapped in 275 and has rub while being lowered (although unconfirmed if down or half down). now going 20 and wide would most likely have rubbing issues.

you're not the only one. I hate that look! I'm not a fan of wheel lips excessively protruding past the "stretched" tire. it looks like a fat thighs in small shorts....sloppy

bringing this thread back to life!!!

just switched to RSR half downs! love them, drop is very minor!!!!

for those who are looking to put more tire on your wheels this would good for you.
i have a 19x10.5 +45 rear and i just installed 275/30/19--i actually have room for 275/35/19 without the issues of rubbing! i'll post pictures in a few days, going to let the springs settle in.

I also installed the RSR Half-Downs. Have had them on for about 1K miles now. Drop in front is ~0.75" and rear ~0.5". Will be installing VFS1s with 235.35.19s in front and 275.30.19s in the back.
