where to buy steering ECU?
i did some searches and decided the l-tuned steering ECU is a great upgrade for the money, so im going to buy one. i havent bought any mods for the GS, so i am wondering where i should get this. who has the best price? anyone vendor whose service you like? if prices are relatively similar id like to buy from the guys who support this forum. let me know, i got 200 bucks burning a hole in my pocket
(i tried to search for vendors who sold this... but, no luck)

Go to Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota. 1-800-90-TOYOTA
When you receive the unit, make sure you use a marker to mark the old unit. The new one looks exactly like your old unit.

Basically tightens the steering response, and freeplay. Stock, you have about a 1/2 inch of freeplay from dead center. With the ecu, that 1/2 inch is reduced, so that your steering is more responsive to you. I noticed the difference, some people don't. I would recommend it.

I know there has been a lot of debate on this and this much is for sure -
The L-Tuned ECU is already on the 2003 GS430.
This much I am 90% sure of...
The L-Tuned ECU is already on the 2002 GS430
and this is the debatable part
The L-Tuned ECU may or may not be on the 2001 GS430.
When I put my L-Tuned ECU in my car, I swear I noticed a difference - so I ran to get the impartial judge - the wife. She tested the steering both ways (I kept swapping the part out) - and there was absolutely no difference. So I had her switch them fo rme and sure enough I could not tell when the L-Tuned ECU was installed or not. A friend of mine is friends with a high level Toyota engineer and he laughed at me pointing out that for sure the L-Tuned ECU is in the 2002 and 2003 GS430 (he wasn't sure about the 2001).
So if you want an L-Tuned ECU, I've got one for sale (even though the incredible guy I bought it for who just so happens to work at Carson Toyota has offered to give me credit towards something else).
