L-tuned shocks and springs
I installed some L-tuned shocks and springs on a GS400. After completing the installation, I noticed the front tires were rubbing against a brace from the upper control arm to the lower half. Lexus technicians from my area think that the tires or wheel's offset point may be causing the problem. However, there were no advice on how I can resolve this issue, he can only suggest that I bring the car in for him to look at. Tires are 245/45/17 ( not the original 235/45/17) can this be causing the problem? If anyone experienced the same issue and know how to correct it, please let me know?
Thanks in advance...

Kaizen,
You might want to include some addtional details that may help folks with similar setups respond. For example:
- What wheels do you have (factory 16, optional OEM 17" or aftermarket rims
- What brand of tire do you have on the wheel. Probably wouldn't make a big difference, but in the off chance that someone has *exactly* the same L-tuned setup with wheels and tires as you, might help to narrow down the problem
Edit - Oh, and welcome to ClubLexus since this is your first post !

If they're factory wheels I'm very surprised that the slightly bigger tires on them would rub anywhere.

Thanks DaveGS4.
It is the optional OEM 17-inch alloy wheels with the five spoke design (17 x 8.0-in) and Michelin XGT Z4 directional tires. I tried the spare tire (Potenza 235/45/17 on the same type wheels) and it gave me a clerance of 1/2 - 3/4 inch. Not knowing if this is normal after lowering the car, I'm concern that it may rub when cornering or going over a bump. Comments?
bitkahuna - I agree, I was a bit surprise and disapointed to see it rubbing against anything.
At this point, I'm thinking of using factory specs and get a set of 235/45/17 tires to make it work (unless someone knows any work around without compromising the ride.)
Lesson learn - if anyone is planning to lower your GS and they are using a wider tire than the 235/45/17, they might want to check first if there is enough room to clear the brace from the upper control arm.
