handling
I have 03 GS300 and I found out that it is just little hard to keep strainght in any road.
sometimes it pulls to left and sometimes it pulls to right. Of course, the steering is off the center little bit.
Is this normal? I know that it can be wind or natural for GS but...I had BMW before and steering was just perpect. I didn't have to hold steering wheel hard. But GS,,, I have to correct angle even thought I am going straight road....weird...
Everything is stock...
I asked to check at dealer and advisor said no problem found. so I asked " did you check alighnment? "
Then he said " since it seems normal, no we didn't . " I don't know what to do.

My steering is unbelievably loose. But it tracks perfect. I am told that adjusting the steering pretensioner will tighten my steering however will make it much more susceptible to road crown and wander on the highway.
I suspect that Lexus can't get the pretensioner adjustment right on this car. I do know that I HATE my steering - enough so that would consider getting out of my lease if they can't get this fixed. Then again, I HATE steering that pulls!
Good luck and let us know if you get this fixed.
Doug
PS - my BMWs always tracked perfect as well. Damn do I miss that car.

I changed tires to brigestone turanza LS-Z and it tracks straight......so happy...
but the thing is that it is soft tires, the handling is softer than before...very ride....less tight coner...
and I found out after 5000 miles on my car, the steering is little lighter than before....so I will make appointement for tightning pretensionor and alignment check....also wheel balance...since the tire shop did poor wheel balancing..

Also, consider getting the L-Tuned steering ECU chip upgrade - it tightens up the steering - a good mod.

Bit
I know you did research on this, but FYI, the 2002 and 2003 GS430s have the ECU - know it for a fact from a Toyota Engineer himself and through testing on my own car. He was not sure about the 2001 however.
