I was always told springs hurt/damage the shocks of the car? Was wondering if that is still true cause half of the cars on here are on rsr or tiens springs.

Yes lowering springs put more stress on the struts/shocks. How much they affect the life of the shocks depends on too many factors such as driving style, potholes, etc.. So there's no solid answer to when the shocks will give out.

However, I don't regret going the low life :P

stock shocks were meant to function in a certain range at stock height. When the shock is compressed X inches due to lowering springs, then it is forced to start functioning in a new, more compressed range. It can result in faster wear on the internals of the shocks. So mild drops, like 1" or so, shouldn't kill the life of the stock shocks by much, but being slammed on stock shocks will likely kill them fast.
