Question L-Tuned Alternatives? Sounded like the perfect setup for me, but discontinued...

Considering front and rear RCAs cost nearly as much as a decent set of shocks/springs, I've been looking into various combos out there.

From the reviews, it sounds like the L-Tuned setup was exactly what I want - Minor drop, less roll, more confidence-inspiring handling, without much of a comfort sacrifice. "The way it should have been from the factory."

It seems nearly impossible to get a set that's not worn out, so I'm curious what the closest alternative would be?

I see a lot of reviews of the Bilstein HD's with stock springs being a comfortable but more controlled setup than stock, and could use RCAs for a drop if needed, but that'll add up to more.

Thoughts?

Why do you say that? In what respects? Ride height? Spring rate? What shocks would need to be paired with them for similar results?

TMF is actually correct, the NF are the softest.

I'd actually consider Bilstein shocks (HD) NF springs and RCA's for my daily

I recall L-Tuned springs were made by Eibach and the L-tuned shocks were rebadged KYB. You might be able to find both of them new somewhere still; worth looking.

I'd say it could be fairly low if you did 40mm F. and 30mm R. RCA

OP, you can go to this thread and look at various setups with S/S and coilovers...

Honestly I don't want it to be that low, just reduce front wheel gap a little. I figured 40mm front and 30mm rear would be about perfect. I think a drop from spring or rcas would do it. A combo would probably be too low for me.

i think the DF would be good then... it would the gap more then the NF's.. look through that thread i posted... many members used those springs and you can get an idea of the gap

The NF seem to have the ideal balance for me. Just curious what shocks I should pair with them that are best match with their spring rate and suspension travel.

If you are looking to simply lower it with no other changes to the "feel" then RCAs are DEFINITELY the way to go.

If you want to further improve handling then get the TRD sways.

Anytime you reduce travel by installing shorter springs, your ride will get worse to some extent.

Believe me, I am considering going back to stock springs with Bilstein HD shocks in my DD.

I recenttly drove my uncle's stock 2GS and I can tell you that it sure was nice...

While I love the handling - in my old age I feel like the plush, long travel suspension might suit me better sometimes - mannnnnnnn I'm soooo OLD!

I kind of want to see how much the handling suffers if I go from the current Bilstein PSS to stock springs with HD Bilsteins, I'd keep my RCA and TRD sways.
