GS300 dolphin squeal and ABS
When coming to a stop, the ABS suddenly kicks in consistently. I also have the "dolphin squeal" from what sounds like the master cylinder assembly.
Pulled front ABS sensors, looked good.
Pulled rear ABS sensors, had to be cleaned:
I also put a magnet and swabs to clean out the rear tone rings. The issue was not resolved. Still had the ABS activating when coming to a stop.
I'm concerned the ABS sensor tip is worn. Front ABS magnet protruded about 1mm, whereas rears have no protrusion:
I'm also concerned the rear tonerings have been worn down. The fronts had uniform teeth that protruded 2-3mm. The rear has non-uniform wear on the teeth, and the teeth protrude no more than 1mm:
Do you think this tonering can be causing the ABS sensor to not pick up the signal?

I've had the same issue for over a year now. I replaced both rear sensors but haven't got around to replacing the front. Most people thinks the issue is the master cylinder but I don't think so because I can duplicate the issue any given time. This only happens at a slow stop and brake pedal feels like it slips. I can not make it happen at fast stops. Also none of the abs lights come on in the dash indicating any problems. I have a complete 2000 GS300(wrecked in the rear) that I'm going to swap parts from.
PM me and we can swap #s and try to track this down.

My car has the same symptoms and I have purchased a used axle and a new dust cover. I plan on having these parts installed within the next 3 weeks and will report back if the problem was solved. Even though I have not pulled the sensor to look at the tone ring on my car, I am 99% sure it is the problem.
When I'm moving slowly in reverse, my scanner shows the rear driver's side wheel is moving 0mph and accurate speeds for the other 3 wheels. Also, when the abs engages during a slow stop, this same wheel shows 0mph on the scanner while it is still rotating right before the car stops. This supports the theory that the worn down tone ring is the problem.
I had good luck on ebay getting a decent deal on a new OEM dust cover and used axle. Both were less than $100 combined with shipping.
I bought this dust cover, the part number matches the Sewell catalog for the GS400, but I have not verified that it fits the car.

Do you think this tonering can be causing the ABS sensor to not pick up the signal?

It must be picking up signal, because you don't have a VSC light on. As for the squeal it's the BMC going bad. The person I sold my car to. He ended up just replacing it with a newer model one. All he had to do was swap out the pressure sensor I think. There's a good detailed video on YouTube how to swap out the BMC.
