Lexus is listing "Front Strut Top Insulators Torn" under recommendations on the paperwork for my last recall service. The car is a 2006 IS350 with the factory Lexus Sport suspension. Can anyone point me towards the part I need to replace?

I found Part Number: 4815830020 which is item #12 from the diagram below:



Could this be the right part?

#12 does sound about right, but it would only be a guess. You should confirm it with the dealership before purchasing.

Thanks. Just called Lexus and they're saying it's part #8 on the diagram.

They are telling me it is part# 4868053031

Kind of expensive part. Are these critical? Does that make sense to anyone?

To me it sounds like they are saying the dust boot over the shock is cracking. I'd not worry about it.
