Default Brake pads/rotors

i just got my car serviced at 15k miles, and the service tech told i need new pads/rotors.

i didnt want to pay 1000 for them to replace it, so now im looking to see what are the best pads/rotors i can buy for my car.

I want pads that dont let out a lot of brake dust but still has a lot of bite.

Thank you for the help

Holy cow, pads/rotors @ 15k? Is that the life expectancy with our car?

I'd go with the EBC red or green stuff. As for rotors, go stock.

I am very happy with yellow stuff for daily usage but it makes noise.
Red stuff should be doing good too.

I wouldnt recommend any of the EBC products due to the multiple accounts of their chunking and falling apart with heavy use.

You can get Stoptech Street Performance Pads for $42 at rock auto

You can get new front rotors for $68 each for premium discs at rock auto. Dont try and resurface a rotor. Get new ones.

Labor to install is about 1 hour.

The whole job should be less than $300.

Every driver is different. The original poster said his pads were at 3mm. That is the end of their life. If you are going to replace the pads, you replace the rotors. I already posted that if you go to Rock Auto you can pick up premium pads and rotors for about $200 for everything.

Do a visual inspection yourself. Unless they have grooves on them you shouldn't need new rotors at 15k.

they are done, I place and order for the StopTech pads and rotors. I canceled the EBC pads, too many bad reviews.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Slotted or drilled rotors eat through pads faster and won't give you a performance upgrade. Stick with blanks.
