Faint rubbing noise
Hey all, I haven't noticed anyone talk about a rubbing noise on here.
This happens after I start in the morning and back out of the driveway, I start braking gently and I hear a very faint rubbing noise. And it continues to make that sound until I suppose the car fully warms up. It's not a squealing noise so I am assuming the brakes are not worn out.
Could this be needing some kind of brake lubricant? I don't think it's brake fluid because I just recently bought the car and they have inspected it multiple times before handing it over to me.
Any advice is appreciated!

Have someone check the brake pads (especially the inner ones); the 2IS models are known for calipers seizing up and having pads wear unevenly. I had to replace BOTH rear calipers on my IS350 due to the calipers being seized up; the inner most pad was DONE, while I had half of a good pad left on the outer one.

In my case, after warming up the car in the morning, when i back up, i hear the clunking noise from the brakes. Once I start driving, i no longer hear the noise. I have mechanics check them several times and they report back that the pads and rotors and fluid are all fine.
This happens to both IS250 and IS350. They speculate that the pads might not sit as tight and move a little bit when back up but it is not failure of anything, just little bit annoying.

FSportIS,
Thanks for chiming in. this makes me feel better and yes it is annoying.
so got my car back last week and my service advisor says that most of their lexus vehicles do this. i told him that my parents' RX 350 doesnt. he said that it's normal and i shouldnt worry.
