Default RS*R Half Downs Installed on F Sport

These were actually installed by mistake. I ordered RS*R Downs initially, well I did not get a chance to check the actual springs before install. Surprisingly though, I like the drop and ride comfort the HD's offer. This is how it should have come stock IMO.

Comfort- I'm not going to lie and say its better than stock, but it is close to stock. You do feel the road a bit more, it does absorb small imperfection and bumps well. It does feel stiffer than stock also. There is also a bit more road noise, but nothing that would want you go back to stock. It still feels more comfortable than my Fiesta ST. I drove about 60 miles in D. I have not tried Sport or SPort + yet.

Handling- There is improved handling. Less body roll and more composure when taking turns. Love the improvement.

Braking- I think this is where I noticed the most improvement. there is no longer a feeling of heaviness if that makes sense when braking.

Overall- I'm happy with my purchase, I think with the downs I would have loved the look but hated the loss of comfort.

Whats Next- Ill be getting some wheel spacers until I collect enough money to get some TE37 SL's.

Pics are bad since I took them late in the day. Ill take better ones later on:

I've never had experience with the Downs. But these Half Downs are not uncomfortable at all. Real smooth on the Freeway and absorbs imperfections decently.

I've been thinking about getting half down but how much does half down dropped from stock? About half inch in the front?

According to RS*R it's 0.7-1.0 inches up front and 0.4-0.6 in the back.

Spring Rates are:

257 lbs/in- Front
485 lbs/in- Rear

Just installed Half Downs in my IS350 Fsport, and can confirm everything the OP said is 100% true.I too actually like the look of Downs but half down was the compromise since I went to 19" wheels. Super happy with set-up and negligible increase of noise or decrease of comfort. Two small finger gap all round which makes it look perfect and practical. Stock should be this height!

Where did your order your half downs from if you don't mind me asking?

Nice drop to help fill the gap. Now for some wheels to fill the rest!

How do these look now after they are settled in? It's been like 2 months I think.

They look the same. No settling of the springs at all(which is good).
