Default strange creaking noise driver's side wheel well

since i'm lowered on AWD, my CV joint/boots take a beating. i've had the driver's side one replaced. now whenever i'm driving at a low speed i can hear a creaking noise especially when i turn. does anyone know what this may be?

my initial thought was perhaps Firestone didn't put enough grease back in the CV joint so i'm just hearing that creaky/grind noise.
