New owner control arm etc questions
Hello-
I inherited a 1999 gs300 with 66k miles. I've been reading all the posts about the potential ball joint failures. If you replace them, is OEM part the way to go? I see where some owners have used Moog brand. Is that a better product than the OEM? What about Raybestos or Beck-Arnley? If you're gonna go through the effort of replacing this, would you replace the control arm or any other parts at the same time? Thanks,

Welcome to the club. I think you will find that most on this forum would NOT use OEM parts for the ball joints because that's where the problem lies. They seem to be flawed. I bought Moog to replace mine. My control arms appeared to be OK but I did replace the tire rod ends.

The moog ball joints are beefier and should be stamped with 555 on them meaning their a genuine part from Japan, if u ever go to buy a Moog product if it starts with a K it's official if it starts with a RK it's a cheaper company making moog parts overseas that for some reason moog backs, I just found this out...
