off set question for my ls brakes

Offset has nothing to do with clearance. It makes no difference where the spokes attach to the rim, it is the spoke shape which determines it, along with the hub hat design. You have to almost try to see, unless you buy wheels specifically designed high caliper clearance. Look for wheels with spokes which curve out from the hat, along with a raised portion of the hat which extends inside the inner surface of the hat.
I use GS350 wheels and they just clear.

I don't think it will fit based on the picture.
I measured 2 1/2" of clearance between the SC400 stock rotor and the inner surface of the GS350 wheel at the radius of the caliper location. You will find that the LS rotor has 3/8" thicker hat, so the clearance between the LS rotor and the wheel is closer to 2 7/8", that is the thicker hat pushes the wheel out 3/8" just like a spacer. That is barely enough to clear, as I have only 1/8-1/4" clearance after installing the LS caliper.
Looks like maybe 1 3/4" clearance in the photo. That will not clear as my 2 1/2" just cleared. But the only final answer is to try. Just don't be surprised if it doesn't fit.

so i wanted to post these. thought i had one showing the clearance but i can take another tomorrow. anyhow the first picture is the ls brake calipers and rotors on. i went ahead and removed the dust shield completely which wasnt much trouble. the second is my XXR 502 18x8.5 +35 offset mounted WITHOUT the 5mm spacer i thought i needed. there is about a 10mm wrench amount of space between the wheel and the spin of the caliper. had them on for about 2 weeks now and no issues. not bad at all

Uh-oh. I just installed GT-C's which use the exact same special lugs as AV3's. Hope that doesn't mean they won't fit on my car either.. I was even thinking about goin with something bigger like Corvette breaks or TT breaks..
