Default 1997 front upper control arm clarification

This may seem like a really off situation/question, but hopefully you guys have some insight on this.

I did my lower control arms last year with Supra ones from Carson.
at the same time I ordered a pair of Dorman uppers from Rock Auto. Well it turned out the uppers did not fit. Sent them back.

My uppers weren't too bad back then but now they really need to be replaced. Its been about a year...car has been sitting, life stuff has been in the way and now I'm back to my project.

I just got off the phone with Rock Auto and the tech advised that the Beck/Arnley are probably wider than the Dormans. He went on to say that "look at the picture, it is clearly wider". He also advised that the pictures were "actual" pictures of the parts and not generic images.

After some digging on the web for answers...I found this thread about how some arms are more narrow.

http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...-arm-question/

quote from that thread
"Hey John I ordered my LCA`s from Carson also. They were very helpful.Plus all the other places had to order them & the free shipping had to be under 5lbs.I found a place called http://www.importpar...utUs/index.aspx (877) 793-0057. They sell the upper arms for $239 ea with free fedex next day shipping if you plan on changing yours.also don't buy any after market upper arms they all seem to wrong. they measure 11' wide instead of 9 1/2.

the post from above was for a 1993 SC300

I've also read a few threads where a few users used Dorman control arms with no issues.

ie:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...estions-2.html

Can someone clarify on this. Is there maybe difference between the 92-96 vs 97-99 uppers?

If I have to order the Beck/Arnley I will...but I'm just kind of confused, really don't want to end up with the wrong parts again.

any help is appreciated...
thanks in advance

local Lexus dealer just confirmed that the control arms production from 93 forward are different.

Anyone have any experience with these problems?

Did you get any pics of your old ones compared to the Dormans to show the difference?

Sadly I did not. Car is going to a shop this week to get the uppers done. It's going to cost me an arm and leg, but at this point I can't deal with the back and forth anymore.
