Default Castor arm slid off bushing...

I installed poly castor bushing on my 00 gs3 two years ago. Recently they have been creaking bad so while I was in the process of installing my LS4 calipers, I checked the condition of the castor bushings. To my surprise they looked fine except for the fact that the bushing is half way popped out of the bottom of the castor arm. It appears that the bushing just doesn't have enough flex when jacking up the car. I will be going back to hardened rubber. I am curious if anyone has had similar problems??

I had them about 3 years ago and absolutely hated them. They knocked like no other. When I had them pressed out, the poly was contorted. Went with Roca (OEM type) and have been fine ever since. That was in 2011. I do not recommend poly bushings for the caster arm on for these cars. They are clearly not meant for the car. My opinion.

Do you have pics?

I believe FIGS has solved this problem with the Sandwich and Press-in Polys from the past.. as they dont allow the correct swing of the arm

I've other people complain about the daizen's in the past also... I guess your best bet is to get the 2003+ caster arms or the FIGS... Sewell sells the correct ones...

It was def a first for me. I more than likely will just replace the bushing rather than the whole arm. I have my own press and the hardest part is getting the arm to line up to re-install. I will let you know if I changed my mind.

I think I am going to pick up some of the Figs bushings. I will check Sewell as well. With my discount, they tend to be priced very similar aftermarket parts. Love me some Sewell!

Well I saw the diy stickies and I did a few searches and really didn't run into the posts about the down side.
By the way, how long do Daizen bushings last before they start giving you trouble?

Default 2003 Castor Arms

I have a 2001, GS3, do the 2003 Castor Arms (Lower control arm #2) have any fitment issues. Did Lexus upgrade the bushings?
Thanks, trying to read and search all I can before I decide to go OE or Figs.

there is a whole "sticky" thread dedicated to the suspension. there is no fitment issues and according to Sewell there all the 2003 + caster arms that they sell.

guys we have more 2001+ bushings on their way. Should be wrapped up at the end of the week and air shipped to us. This is the big problem with the design of both the lower cost alternative poly bushings. Poor material that has to deform to function and will obviously find its way off of the small lip feature that holds it in place. WE have the adjustable version in stock that will add more caster for performance. So all up to you.

I had the same thing happen to mine and thought it was from a nice size pothole I hit. I would never purchase them again.
