Default 1997 front upper control arms

need some help here...

I had ordered supra lower CA last summer and put them on...from Carson Toyota.
Now the uppers need to be done. Should have done them at the same time but thats in the past...moving forward.


my question is
looking at Rock Auto site...
why the big price difference between Dorman vs Beck/Arnley for the uppers?

Yes the control arms are the same for all years and they are the same for a Supra as well.

They're two different manufacturers. Perhaps one company felt theirs should cost more, or maybe it costed them more to manufacturer so they have to price it at that to attain a profit. Maybe the more expensive ones actually have better bushings and balljoints.

The designs are different from each other, specifically where the two rods meet at the balljoint.

I just installed the Dormans on my car last week. I've got new Supra LCA's too. I could find any literature as to why the Beckley Arnold's would be any better than the Dormans. New OEM ones are astronomical though. Damn. I couldn't believe it.

Where did you order them from?
could you give me the part numbers?
are the uppers the same on SC400 and Sc300?

I ordered the Dormans. Perfect fit. Be sure and torque them down correctly 121 ft lbs I believe. It does make a difference in how the cars drives.
