My gs400 front brakes have been upgraded to 93 supra tt rotors and calipers. . I need to replace rotors and pads. What is best? Drilled and slotted rotors or just drilled? Ceramic pads or semi metallic? Opinions or professional advice please

Few ever brake hard enough to need drilled or slotted rotors. That is for outgassing of the pads under extreme braking. Waste of money for 99.999% of the drivers.

With modern pad compositions today outgassing is less a problem than years ago, so really it isn't needed on the street ever, just track. Buy some slotted OR drilled (no need for both) for track days, else leave them home.

If you want better braking, get some high tech pads and if you need more, Supra TT rotors and LS400 calipers.

Hmmm... didn't know the TT rotors worked with LS calipers. May have to check that out when mine are due.

Don't know 100% for sure, but LS calipers work on GS rotors, and Supra rotors work on the GS (with appropriate bracket), so why not?

Ok but what I'm saying is that I already have supra tt drilled/slotted rotors, pads and calipers. The rear are also drilled and slotted so I would probably only do it so that they all 4 stay matched.
As far as pads are ceramic better than semi metallic?

As for better, I'd assume it would depend on the application. But, from my experience, ceramics are fine for daily driving and minor track work (from my previous vehicle). But, they can squeal a bit when cold.

Blank rotors would be best!! That drilled and slotted crap are just for looks and take surface area away from the rotors.
