I have heard almost all positive reviews regarding FIGS Toe Links. However, I was wondering if anyone else was using these in places with a snowy winter. I am up in Ohio and my Toe Links appear to be starting to rust. They also squeak unless I oil them very regularly. Any input is appreciated.

ive put my car on the hoist to inspect, they seem ok. but then, i do spray down the spherical ball joints with graphite spray every oil change,

eitherway, first winter with them, so far so good.

i have the figs rear toe, front and rear end links.

I drove my GS daily through Upstate NY winter last year on Figs full rear set. Winter is really harsh on them! This year I've garaged the Lexus. I bought an '86 5 Series for less than a Figs kit costs

Glad to know I am not alone on this. I went ahead and ordered Megan Toe Control Arms to replace the FIGS for now. I will post some pictures of my current FIGS when I get a chance.

I go through a touchless wash once a week to get the crap off the undercarriage but so far I think there aren't any rust... i haven't inspected them closely lately though.
Have you read their blog and their entry about looking at heim joints with 40k miles exposed to the elemnts of Colorado?

i have been on ALL of FIGS items for several years with NO issues, NO rust. i relube them every few months just so they never squeak

that doesn't look very good IMO. These parts should not rust especially on how expensive FIGS parts are. I thought the material was titanium in which they made there parts from. try and contact them for replacements. maybe you got a bad set?

Here's a pic of mine I took yesterday... it has 3 years of daily driving use Chicago weather and **** roads.
Most of what looked like surface rust came off when I cleaned it up with a towel.

I'm running a Figs rear set- had them about 4yrs now. Before I transitioned out of the military I was stationed in upstate NY where they salt the roads extremely heavily. Couldn't say for sure the exact amount of mileage I have on them but I know it's at least 50k. One of these days soon I'll probably just order some new rod ends from Mike and be on my way lol...

Btw, from looking at a couple pics in this thread I just want to mention that you want to have the rod end bearings centered and not off axis to prevent premature wear. Just something to be aware of.

i dont think mine are as bad as the pics above, but ive noticed a bit of play in my toe links. i just scrub down with a stiff nylon brush and spray down with graphite lube. i will admit, my car sounds horrible, but its also due to dry poly bushings ive been meaning to get re greased
