Exclamation cracked sway bar bracket! <<<diagram attached>>>

just wanted to post a problem i found...

i was changing my oil and wanted to grease up the sway bar bushings that came with the daizen sways and noticed that the bracket was broken. more specifically, not the u-shaped bracket that holds the bushing but the bracket that the u-shaped metal piece is screwed into. it is part number 4 (real part number 48829A) in the attached image and the cracks occurred around the holes that the screws go into to hold the piece to the car body.

anyone had this issue before? what could've caused this? pretty freaky... thank goodness i saw it when i was changing my oil...

You should have felt it. The car should be wandering or performs bad during turns.

Angry Broken Sway Bar bracket

[Just received notice from lexus service dept that my drivers side sway bar bracket had broken off from the frame on my very well kept LX 470. Anyone else have this issue. There is no rust anywhere on the car, I suspect a defective piece that could cost a bundle to have replaced

If it's like the one on my IS, it's probably about $20 and is just held on with 4 bolts. GS is built pretty much the same way.
