RS*R Down Lowering Springs vs Super Down
#256
Adjusting the headlight height is easy. All you need to do is park in front of a wall on a leveled platform. I personally drove to my bank, located in a plaza. It was a nice flat parking lot. I faced my headlights towards the wall and was able to balance both headlights to point straight across. Not too high. Not too Low. And all you need is a Phillips screw driver. There is a white contraption located near the headlight. Look close as you can see where you are able to turn a dial. Ideally using a Phillips screw driver. It will take a few turns to see a noticeable change in height. But it is very simple. Experiment before paying someone. Just my opinion. If you get this wrong. You should not be working on cars ever.

I did it over the weekend myself. The mistake I made looking all over is that the threads that popped up would be a different Lexus model hence a slight confusion on my part. However, after popping my hood I realized how easy it was to access the plastic piece.

I am sitting on an set of RSR Downs for an AWD.
From what I understand, with the same model spring, because of the differences front struts, an AWD model will always sit higher and Downs have higher spring rate than Super Downs, which are too soft and bottom out easily.
How much more travel does an AWD have up front?

I picked up a set of Superdowns, so I am sitting on both those and the Downs.
After much thinking and looking at pictures, am 99% sure I am getting the Superdowns installed next week. If my car was RWD, the Superdowns would be too low and the Downs almost alright, but I have an AWD. This is a DD (including winter i.e. snow) and needs to make it over speedbumps and parking entrances easily. As long as the underside of the car doesn't scrape or the exhaust, I am good.
I am assuming AWD have more front strut travel than an RWD and that there is more than 0.75" until it meets the bumpstop over the RWD.
I can't wait to get rid of this 4x4 status.....

Is it true that the down or super down springs will wear out the oem struts quickly after one year? I have a 3 year lease so hoping the struts would last this long with the RSR down springs. ;-P
