Mileage and wear
Hi- new member and have question for you all gurus. I'm looking at buying an 2008 ISF and found one Dealer CPO with 24k miles. Great- right- well I have a deposit down to get it for $42k and what's gnawing at me is what I think of as unusual wear. There are two things in particular.
First the Lexus dealer put new brakes on all four corners. Is that a bit soon for a Sunday driver?
And second the driver side leather panel is showing wear on entry side. Actual scuffing to white
Is that excessive for that mileage? The vehicle is at the Salt Lake City Lexus dealer and I am remotely purchasing from CA. I have deposit down but have a sneaking suspicion that they have posted the trip Odo by mistake.
Looks great other wise and price seems good for CPO. Thoughts?
Regards,
Mark

Do you have the VIN? If so, you can sign up for an account on Lexus.com and set this VIN as "Your vehicle". Once loaded, you can see the vehicles dealership service history.
New brakes @ 24k for a performance vehicle is not abnormal. Hell, I needed new pads on my IS350 @ 31k.
The leather insert must have had ALOT of abrasion over time. Either replace the panel by an upholstery shop or replace the entire door panel.
About the mileage, if you sign up that Lexus account and view the service history, they have the mileage posted on every entry. So that should help verify the true mileage.

Thanks for the tip- I do see it online and the mileage matches but it seems like a lot of leather wear. Glad to hear I'm not totally out of the ball park -
I look forward to learning more about how to get the most out of this car. I will take it to Tahoe next weekend and then to San Diego. Should give me a good indication of weather I want to upgrade the suspension...
Photos of the new toy will get posted when I get it next week!
