Lowering questions
Not sure anyone knows yet because springs and coil overs are just being released.
1) How much drop do I need to get rid of the gap between the tire and fender. Going to be going with Vossen 20" wheels just not sure on which style yet.
2) Does anyone mod their leased cars and just keep the factory parts to put it back to stock later on?
Hoping to get away with just springs don't want to lower it too much due to my driveway. Next house won't have a big #@% curb to drive up.
First time leasing a car and normally I do springs, exhaust and wheels/tires. Normally don't have a hard time selling the parts on ebay / craigslist when I want to get rid of the car.

ok im a nice guy but i gotta mention that the first question is pretty dumb.
anyways well how much gap is there now? if you dont know, go take a ruler/etc
and measure that ****. that is how much gap you need to get rid of.
if you arent running those 20s that you were talkin about at this moment, then you need
to compare the total circumference of your old setup and your new set up.
here is an awesome sight to do so http://rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
example:
your stock set up is a total circumference of 26" and you have a fender gap of 3".
your new set up is 27" total circumference, so now you will only have 2" gap.
(disclaimer: these were just random numbers)

I don't have the car yet so I can't measure. Figured it was a dumb question but was hoping someone who already has their car might know.
Will be ordering 20's once the car comes in most likely. Hopefully by then the suspension choices will be available for purchase.
Thx for the help.

Hey, you can mod leased cars, everyone does it.
Coilovers came first b/c its actually easier for a suspension company to design an entire suspension from the ground up than just springs. From my understanding RS-R springs are coming in late fall/winter for the 3IS but the coilovers are ready to order.
Usually around 2" drop is your best bet for a flush look.

Depend, I have the 3IS 350 and I'll lose the variable suspension because the RS R come with 16 or 32 different adjustment... everything else does not change... but for people who have the 250 they will not lose anything because the 250 don't come with the variable suspension option... Someone correct me if I'm wrong ...

Hello everyone...I am new to the forum. I contacted Five Axis today to inquire about a couple of their wheels. The person that I emailed back and forth with, Nate, provided four pictures of Five Axis wheels on three 2014 Lexus IS vehicles. Two were F Sport models and the other one was a non-F Sport model. What I first noticed, besides the wheels, was that all the vehicles were lowered. I immediately asked Nate if he knew what springs were used to lower those vehicles, He was kind enough to reply quickly. He response is below:
"The white vehicle is an IS350 F Sport that has been lowered on TEIN S.Tech springs. These springs do not effect the Drive Mode Select functions of the vehicle in any way. We expect these springs to arrive stateside from Japan in Mid October and would be more than happy to put you in touch with a FIVE:AD authorized dealer when they arrive to get your order placed."
I sure hope that the IS350 F Sport can be lowered without affecting the Drive Mode Select functionality.
Also, I think most people here have probably seen the Vossen IS350 F Sport. It is beautiful. I wonder what springs were used to lower it.
I hope the informaiton is useful to someone. Thanks.
