I am thinking of getting a press from harbor freight..

Does it work on the bushings replacements that our car has, press bushings out and put new ones in? Somehow I have noticed there are pressable and non-pressable version of the bushing sold?

one thing I am not sure about doing is the LCA bushing, by the time I separate the ball joint and put it back, the ball joint is probably in worse shape and I might as well buy a new LCA

i used a harbor freight press to do my bushings. it felt sketchy cause the press was twisting but it did pop them out.

The press works fine. The worst part is the less-than-sturdy frame but it handles the load.

My buddy has one and it worked fine for the suspension bushings.

I didn't have a press I had to burn those bushing out it was like a rubber bbq.
next time I will get new control arms and not mess with it.. lol

I used a quality press at a buddys shop on my GS bushings and it was a life saver (the caster arms require a press for the new bushings), but i would warn you that they can be dangerous. especially if you are pressing an oddly shaped arm (like the GS caster arm), they become hard to stabilize on the press bed and will pop and jump with a ton of force (one arm flew about 5 feet in the air). That said they can be really useful, i have heard of people buying the cheap harbor freight press then welding the frame in addition to the bolts and even welding some reinforcement bars to the frame, this is the route i am going to go when i buy a press.

every bushing that ive replaced was pressed out with a 12 ton press. you really dont need 20 ton. btw mine is a harbor freight unit
