My apologies for thread jacking but what would be a good set up if you only want a 1.5-2 in drop? Pot holes in SoCal would own me with my driving habits if I would go any lower. On my EP3 I had Tokico blues and tein s springs and loved that set up. It stiffened the car enough to be more sporty but wasnt a brutal ride. Im looking for something comparable to that.

I have CXracing coilovers and I like them a lot. 32 way adjustable dampening compared to only 15 for the Megan's. they seem to be a little stiffer than the Megan's as well. I pains 629 shipped. They are another budget friendly coilover kit. Or u can go Ksport.

One thing you can consider
Use factory top mounts, bump stops and isolator
Lowering springs and struts for supra. 1.5 to 2" drop

The is no bottoming out because the stops doesn't let the tire go into the fender well. I have tested over the extremely crappy roads in CA.

I'd stay away from ksport or d2's since they go for 900 brand new, add $100 and you can get BC's or Powered by max which are such better coilover. not very budget and not a smart idea when there are better coilovers out there for slightly a little bit more cash.

I have blown two struts from ksport, and it cost me $165 each time to fix them. I have had Ksports on two of my vehicles and the only reason I have them is I got them dirt cheap in great condition, my sc's were brand new. They're nice coils but I would never pay retail for them.

I think a lot of the coilover just have the shaft without the bellow or boot and is not such a great idea
Eventually the shaft get hit by a piece of rock and shock is blown
Same goes with stock shock which has torn boots as well, the ones with the torn boots have lost their pressure the most when I redo my stock ones

I used lowering springs and shocks that was for a Supra 93-98 and I have about 2 finger wheel gap which is good for daily (cali) driving. I thought I was going to need to "tuck" my wires, but my tires does not chew up my fender liners. I only removed one screw head just incase.
I believe this is because I used stock bump stops.

This is still sporty with suspension travel distance, although it is not the RC car look, I don't have to worry about bottoming out or scraping.

I still recommend the DIY "Gixxer_Drew" coil over. Unless you truly care about being slammed, it's a great performer for a road car. I've had mine for a couple of years now on 600/325 springs. Works very well and it's not too hard to source or rebuild the parts in the event you need to.

Seriously. I don't know why other coilovers less than $2000 even exist for this platform. Bilstein with a decent brand universal spring and you'll probably never need anything else. Worst case? Revalve the Bilsteins and you're set.

^^ Yep. I haven't tried other coilovers but I still haven't seen anything that's had such impressive reviews. For serious drifting... maybe an expensive coil over is better. But for $1k-$1100... Gixxer. Probably most people driving on poor road surfaces 90% of the time the 500/250 version is better. In all other circumstances 600/325 is perfect.

For under $1000, go with h&r street coilovers for the mk4 supra. Ksport, Bc, Megan stance etc is all JUNK. You don't need 32 way adjustability. Gimmicky garbage.
