Wouldn't 255/30 be a much more appropriate size?

Since running 20's is not about handling I don't see why you'd want 255s vs 245s. A 255/35/20 is over 6% bigger (1.7") in diameter/circumference over stock 17s so your speedo will be that much off (low reading).

I had that setup with a +41. But changed it to a 245/35/20.. Do the 245/35 it's better because you might encounter a slight rubbing when you have the wheel fully turned with a 255...

I want the 255/35/20 for the slight wider width. The wheels will be protected a little more. The roads in Pennsylvania SUCK.

No offense, but if the roads suck, then you probably shouldn't be on dubs, and 5% extra sidewall won't offer that much protection. Like Bitkahuna said, it will cause your speedo to be off... when your speedo says 60, you'll really be doing 64.
