Default Megan Racing Street LP vs BC Coilovers

I am trying to decide between the 2 coilovers. If they were the same price I would go for the BC without question but I found the Megan LPs for 800 which is quite a bit cheaper than I have found the BCs. I do track the car a few times a year so I am mainly interested in improving the performance of the car. Will only be dropping the car about 1.5 inches. Does the performance of the BC warrant the $200 price difference?

The BC dampers are serviceable at a cost of $100 per damper. I'm not sure if you can service the LP dampers, but if you can't, the option to do it on the BCs is worth the extra cash.

yes spend the money and get BC...the LP are actually 12/8...the website may say 12/10 but it's not...they did a typo error and haven't changed it....you will feel the difference clearly when driving...well worth the extra 200 for comfort and rebuildable

Megan LP are 10/8 they are not 12/8 as their website may imply.

I think they may have recently changed their website to reflect the true specs

i dont even think the price difference is even 200. i got mine for 900 shipped from a vendor on the boards. i would just say BC because you can do custom spring rates if you liked vs the megans

This.
Dampers wear out, and your valving/damper needs may change (if you decide you want different springs in the future you may want the dampers re-valved for the new springs).

If you can rebuild or replace the dampers at a reasonable cost it is going to save you money in the long term. BC Racing's website lists damper replacement cost at $95, and the FAQ's also talk about their ability to re-valve the dampers

I don't doubt that the Megan Racing coilovers are a good product, but their website doesn't list the cost of a repacement damper, and says that they DO NOT re-valve their own shocks.

EDIT: I stand corrected, just found on Megan's website where they list the damper repacement cost of $115. So if you are confident that you will be happy with a limited set of spring rates over the life of the car I guess they would be a good option.
