Default 1999 SC300 bushings

Does anyone know where I could possibly buy 1999 SC300 control arm rubber bushings? I would rather not buy poly bushings due to price and the horror stories I've seen. I was reading that the only way I'm going to get rubber bushings is by replacing the control arms? How true is this?

what horror stories? The easiest way to get new bushings is to get the poly bushings. if you want to stick with rubber bushings you need to buy new control arms, though i think i have seen new rubber bushings that a machine shop may be able to press in also, but installation/removal is as hard or harder than poly bushings.

it is next to impossible to press out the front bushings to replace them with new rubber inserts. the easiest route for the front is getting supra control arms at 250 each, otherwise get a poly bushing kit and burn the old bushings out with a torch (about 1-2 hour job).

I have had great success with my Poly bushings. More stiffer than normal ride, but cant wear them out. ONly other option is buying new/used ones, or TT ones.

Exactly what horror stories have you heard???? Pictures or links to vidoes???

You have a '99, and a lot of people say the '97 and up have a different metal sleeve with a bulge in the middle. I'm pretty sure you can buy an OEM bushing, I think I saw it at Sewell Lexus, might be wrong though.

Or you can buy this one from Figs Engineering (Super Pro) which comes with the proper metal sleeve according to the pics, I'd call them up to make sure.

When I was researching I stumbled upon a corvette forums and the guy had dislocated or bent a piece. I think it was a joint or something, can't exactly remember. but it was enough to second guess myself. Either way I may need to go with poly bushings, no point in getting coilovers if it still rides like a P.O.S. :P

I realized that lower control arm bushings are the same with the supra, but i had they were different for the top

So what did you end up doing? I also have a 1999 sc300 and Im in the same boat, my bushing are gone and now I need to figure out a route to go. I saw the supra lca arms, but when I call Carson Toyota they say it only works for 92-97 model. Newer models sc300 have a slight different design. That's why I'm just wondering what did you end up doing?

The supra front lca will work on the 99.

Is there a physical way to test if the LCA bushings are shot? Since it's a little difficult to see in there. Some sort of side-to-side shaking, or pry it, etc.

You can pry it with a screwdriver or something, and try moving it, if it moves then it's busted.

Why when I called Carson Toyota he told me it wouldn't work. He knew right away I was getting it for an sc and he was like, yea many ppl get it because it's alot cheaper than the lexus ones but we have many ppl return it. He said it only works for 92-96. I guess something to do with the bushings? Please let me know.
