bolting balljoint into knuckle
Hello everyone,
here is my situation:
my rear lower control arm is detached from the knuckle because I had to switch lca's. I used one of the autozone balljoint press devices. Now I need to bolt the back into the knuckle. Only thing is, im not sure what to use to press the balljoint back into the knuckle. I was going to just use the nut, and thread it on and tighten it causing the balljoint to be pulled into the knuckle hole, but when I thread the nut on the balljoint just spins with it.
any info/ideas?
thanks
scott

This here ^^^ worked for me. I used the spare tire jack under the LCA and slight pressure on the top of the ball joint with a prybar, I was able to lock the balljoint and stop it from spinning allowing it to be tightened.

thanks for all the help, I actually had the whole subframe/rear on the ground out of the car. It turned out the top couple threads of the nut were bent and that was what caused the nut to stick to the bolt and not thread down further. A different not solver the problem.
the reminds me, I need to pick up an impact wrench
thanks
