Strange noise from left front wheel
I have a 2006 IS250 with about 120,000 k on it. A few months back, the front tires were wearing on the inside edge, so I had new struts put on it. I took the car to get it aligned, and the minute I drove it out of there, it sounded as if I had a brake scraping on the left front wheel. I took it back to the alignment shop and they pulled everything apart in the brake assembly and put it back together and it was still doing it hit and miss. I knew I had a warped rotor so I would just have to do a complete brake job. Well, I bought 2 new front rotors, and $60 brake pads. Put it all back together and it is doing it now worse than before! We have checked all the ball joints, bushings, tie rods, sway bars and bushings and everything appears to be tight. As for the noise, when you are driving the car, you don't hear anything. It is only when you come to a stop, and it is only in the left front wheel. I sounds almost exactly like you had a brake shoe going bad and it was scraping every time the wheel goes around coming to a stop.To me it does not sound like metal on metal, but just a swish swish swish every rotation. When I put the brakes on, I lubricated the backs of the shoes and I took the slider pins in the caliper and greased them up as well. Everything on the caliper appeared to be normal.I am thinking it has something to do with the caliper or maybe the ABS system. I don't know enough about either one! Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions?? Whatever it is is really annoying and probably very trivial. Just don't want to spend another $125 on a caliper until I am sure that is the problem.

I have pushed the dust shield away from the rotor. I know it it is not that for sure although it sounds like it could be that. As far as the wheel bearing, wouldn't that make noise all the time, not just under braking conditions?
