^The pin he is referring to is the floating pin that the inner/outer portions of the calipers move in/out on. The seal that is supposed to keep moisture from entering that floating pin chamber doesn't seal well after a while and causes water to enter the chamber. Thus if you try to remove the two halves, and cannot...they have literally rusted together. I had to source two new OEM calipers because of this issue, even after the dealership did the TSIB on my Lexus previously for the last owner.

for those who don't have warranties anymore, is the caliper rebuild-able?
this is a IS350 problem only right?

My second option was to replace with remanufactured centric calipers from Rockauto, less than $100 per side.

Yes, but it is only possible if the unit isn't 100% rusted up. And even if you are able to separate the two halves, it still might cost more to repair the bad caliper correctly than purchase a reman unit.

The IS350 rear calipers have a different design than the rear IS250...so yes. BUT, the front calipers on the IS250 have a similar design (but larger) and can be susceptible to similar issues too.
