Default rear fsport swaybar install- jack stand , lift, or ramps

I have a 2008 is350. I would like to install the rear sway bar my self. I have read many posts but am looking for consensus. Can the rear sway bar be installed with jack stands? Ramps? I know I can take it to a dealer for a lift.

Jack stands should do it (make sure the whole rear is in the air, don't have only one side such as the driver's only up in the air). I don't think ramps will work. You need to get the weight/load off the rear wheels in order to break the bolts loose. Two jack stands in the rear should be sufficient

Default Thanks

Ramps did in fact work fine - I was warned the wheels had to be lifted for install, but that is incorrect.

Now - springs or coil overs - that is the question . . . Like that question hasn't been asked here before

It will work, but it is best to have the suspension unloaded (meaning, no tension on the components) to ensure the easiest install and proper re-installation.

If you have a rolling car jack, jack up the rear end on the rear end (aka diff/pumpkin).

Sidenote, if your car is from the the north you might as well purchase new end links for your sway bar. I tried to install mine over the weekend and the darn things were rusted up so bad. Ended up removing the bar with the end links attached and wrenching on them on the workbench. Only to have the hex holes strip.

There goes another $100!

I used a ramp but Im sure you dont need any of these things.

My friend installed my exhaust back when I was at stock height with no issues
