Default Cusco strut bar

hi, does anybody know if there is a special way to install cusco front strut bar for Lexus is 250/ 350? Also ,it seem like the strut bar is to long end to end. Finally , I already did the side cover mods for the strut bar. Thanks for anyone's help!

Special way to install? I thought the strut bar was made to fit the IS. If you removed both engine side covers or did the modification to cut/trim off a portion the strut bar should fit easily. Do you happen to have any pics to show that the strut bar is too long?

Default cusco

Sorry no pics. I thought the strut bar would fit easy. But it seems like the strut bar is for a wider chassis like isf.

Try loosening the two bolts at the bar, so the brackets pivot. Install one side and snug the bolts and then snug the other side. Torque is at 49 ft lbs.
Then snug and tighten the pivot bolts.

I loosen the bolts on both ends, but it seem like I have to force the strut bar in place. Once, I force the strut bar in place the strut bar starts to flex upwards in the middle of the brace. Finally, do I need to take off top hat spacer before installing strut bar?

I didnt have to take anything off. The fit is really snug. The bar is suppose to stiffen up the chassis.

I didn't feel that much of a difference when I installed my GT Spec Front Strut bar, which is similar to the cusco. I felt more of a difference performance and handling after I installed my front and rear sway bars and springs.

I'm currently having the same issue trying to install my strut bar. Cusco of course and as you said, I have loosened both sides installed the brackets without the middle. I've done everything that you can think of but I swear it almost feels like this is made for like a V8 or just something bigger than this

The Cusco bar was designed to fit both ISF and regular IS but I think they f-cked up the design and measurment, mine hits and deforms my hood, I end up buying another strut bar a TOM's one and my cusco strut bar is a coat hanger now lol...

I feel you on that. I got some led headlights and tail lights that will soon just be paper weights
