Default ball joints

I went in for service today as my steering was a bit off.
Turns out my left lower and upper ball joints need replaced.
They quoted $900 installed. is there an alternative? Could I order my own ball joints somewhere else?
I came across these online:
http://www.iapdirect.com/spc-front-a...250-is350.html
Would these work for both the upper and lower?

Being that the IS is a strut suspension, you have lower ball joints and no uppers. They are available from Sewell for $71.44 each (with the CL discount). I would recommend ordering them from Sewell and calling around to a local shop for a quote on installation if you aren't willing to tackle the job yourself.

I'm sorry but you are both incorrect, the 2IS is an Independent, double wishbone with coil springs with monotube gas shock absorbers and they do have an upper balljoint.

Are the upper and lower ball joint parts the same??? Can I order 4 of the same ball joints and replace both sides in the front?

From what the sewell diagram shows....there is an upper ball joint, BUT it does show that is is non-servicable and you must replace the entire upper control arm!

The uppers can only be bought from the dealer as part of the upper control arm. However you can swap them out yourself without the need of a press by either buying the SPC camber adjustable ones or with some O.E equivalent replacements.

Sorry, most of that is foreign to me. Would buying SPC adjustable camber kit be a cheaper resolution than what dealer will do?

I'd say for the uppers yes it would be cheaper and you'd have to pay a shop about $200 (estimate) to robe and install your factory ones now. The lowers is what I'm not sure about if the link I provided above us what you need for the bottom half of your car.
