Just want to give back to the community. I know this is a common issue and I know there may be other reasons for abs brake vsc and the buzzer alarm going on but this is what I found on mine. Once the alarm was on if I tapped the motor on the master cylinder I could get the lights to go off. I was going to by the whole unit but decided to play with it. I found that the comutator was damaged so my motor would not spin sometimes. I will see if I can upload pictures but in any case I took it to a local motor shop and they rebuilt it for me. Made it new bearings and all.

Thanks for showing me how to upload. I didnt even empty the reservoir lol not too bad to take apart. Must bleed brakes afterward but all in all easy job the longest wait was the repair on the motor I wonder if there is a place you could buy this motor? If anyone has questions just holla!!!!

2 questions.

1. How much was it to rebuild the motor?

2. How did you remove the motor? Are just 3 screws holding it?

I think I have some pictures of dissasemble but yes there is like four screw for motor to come off. There is a couple holding the bracket not shown and a couple holding the motor to the pump. Be careful not to lose the coupling that goes between the motor and the pump. I got it done for free or a couple hours of my time any way. Rainbow electric done it for me guys name is George. But I would look into a small motor repair shop because they primarily do big motors. If you do go tell him Martin sent you hell hook you up.

What was the scope of the repair?
Besides the bearing, were the brushes replaced? How about the slip rings, those appear to be worn some.

With high miles on both my GS's, I appreciate the info...

To be honest IMHO I think there is a mistake in the material for the brushes they were not worn at all they ate the dam commutator. I dont think that should happen if anything all I should have needed was brushes I think my guy did a complete overhaul of the motor. I think the only thing really needed was the commutator but why mess around you are already in there may as well do it all if you can. I would say this may be something that should be looked into if you have high mileage since it really isn't all that hard IMHO. Especially since I seen there is alot of posts about troubles in this are with these models. It wont hurt just be carefull when opening up the motor if you do it yourself if you have the same wear on commutator well it may not come apart easy because your dug in with the brushes but it can come apart I did it relatively easy like I said but I been turning wrenches for 20 plus years first time on lexus though.
