Rear inner tire wear
Alright, so I searched high and low for the better part of 3 days looking for a definite answer on this. I have accelerated wear on my rear inside tires. It's not feathering or wearing down in a matter of hundreds of miles, but I'm about to buy new tires and I want to get the suspension corrected before I do that.
The two threads I found (on the 2GS section) mention the 'rear toe links' and 'control arm'. I can easily figure out what the control arm is.
Using the part diagram here,
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-2000.html
I know the control arm is part number 48730 and 48740.
The toe links though are 48705 and 48706B and I feel like the member that had posted that the toe links needed to be replaced meant the part listed as 48710A and 48710B. I guessed this due to where the tire was wearing, but I could be wrong.
Could anyone clarify this for me before I make a purchase? If I missed a thread in my search, my apologies, I gave it my best shot.
As a final note, I had the vehicle 4-wheel aligned a couple of months ago. I can get the info off it if needed, just have to find it.
Thanks everyone,
Kyle

Are you lowered at all or are you on a stock suspension? Camber or toe could be your problem either way, get the specs from your last alignment and that should help get you going in the right direction.

You should be fine without the control arm, toe links are probably needed. Check your last alignment specs, the factory specs are in this post https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...-98-gs300.html
From there you can see what spec is out of whack. Keep us posted.

Currently having the same issue with my rear tires. Been through 2 new sets already. Haven't changed the fronts yet because they are still good. OP..did you ever figure out the cause of this? Anyone?

Unfortunately the car was hit and totaled before I had the chance to test anything, but the only definitive way of finding the culprit to begin removing components one by one and inspecting the bushings. From what I have read, the two big offenders are the toe links and lower control arm bushings. There is a thread, somewhere in the universe, that talks about these bushings you can just press in, but I had no luck finding them. Your best bet would be to just get another LCA. But again, don't go buying anything till you can identify what the root problem is. I also guess it's safe to assume you got a 4 wheel alignment right?
