Default Big brakes and gas mileage

For those of you with Big brakes have you noticed an increase in your gas mileage? I've been getting consistently 5 mpg more since I got the brembos.

well in general the big brakes are lighter so the wheels should spin more easily. never really did estimate but soon i will start to see if there is a diff

I agree if rotors are lighter, there'll be less rotational inertia to deal with, but the calipers themselves don't contribute to that improvement (even tho I'll spot you them being lighter also).

But 5 mpg is HUGE!!!! That's the part I'm skeptical about, in a time when mfgrs struggle to get even a couple of tenths improvement........

I have had the brake upgrade for about 3-4 months now, I dont see how this is possiable....even if the wheels move more freely....it just dosent make any sense to me....

Have you changed the way you drive....maybe not so agressive??
Just a question.....

Like I said I have had them and the only thing they have done for me is kept my car out of the back end of some Ford....

Even the before 24.9 mpg is a pretty good number for a GS. 30 would be phenomenal. I only get about 20.

5 mpg increase!?! Perhaps you had your parking brake stuck "on" with the stock brakes. Or do you find yourself only driving down hill, now?

Default Its definitely possible....

It could happen if the old brake pads always rubbed on your rotors even after you released the brake pedal.

How many miles did you drive (with the old brake setup) before you had to change brake pads?

Did not know it was an accord. That explains the mpg.

No mean-ness intended. Other than brake rub, I don't see how you could get a 20% increase in gas mileage.
