Recommend me some brake pads . . . .
So I have a stock as rock 1992 SC300/5 speed, has 62k miles on it. Its a daily driver/cruiser/road trip car, its never seen snow and never will, I might put 6-8k miles on it a year.
Honestly this is probably the car's first, maybe second brake job. The stock rotors look good, no pulsing of the pedal at all.
I'm looking for something with a little more bite than the stock pads, but not something that will produce a ton of brake dust and be done in 10k miles. Looking to upgrade to some light weight 17" or 18" wheels as well. No way am I spending money on oversized rotors or bigger calipers, just looking for a good replacement pad.
As far as wheels, I'm seriously considering a set of 17" staggered Enkei lighweights. I love the staggered deep dish look, plus these are really clean looking for my car, I want something simple, since this is a virgin, unmolested, original paint car that will never have any body mods on it.

If you don't require the pads to handle a ton of heat, ie your not doing threshold braking from 100+ MPH, then I would check out the Hawk Performance Ceramic pads, or the Stoptech Posi Quiet pads. I have run both of on my old DD Legacy and they were great pads with virtually no dust or noise, plus they do feel and stop much better than any of the "local auto parts store" brake pads, although I have not tried their "Performance" pads.
Thanks,
Rick
