For those folks with drive to reverse clunks or low speed bump clunks, there is another possibility you might want to consider (after the motor and/or transmission mounts).

The drive shaft "u-joint" at the back of the transmission is a big rubber flex joint. In BMW land they are often called the "guibo" (for reasons unknown). On BMW's, these are well known and typical age/wear items to replace. When the rubber gets cracked there are gaps and play that cause vibrations and mystery noises.

Lexus borrowed (ripped off is too strong, eh?) the design, just like the front end suspension design.
Makes sense that it will have the same advantages AND disadvantages AND wear out behavior as BMW's.

Also, there is a drive shaft center support bearing that is a flexible rubber thing that ages.

Either one of those could sound off at low speeds but not higher speeds due to some kind of gyroscopic effect that keeps things from moving far out of alignment at speed.

Just a thought...

Would you happen to have the part number for it?

Interesting about the U-joint. For people experience a problem with this, it seems like it would be most noticeable when switching from D to R or R to D. That certainly isn't a problem for me since the brake clips went on.
