Default ****!!! Got a balljoint failure today! Pix..

I had 2 of my kids in the car too luckily for me it was when I just pulled out of a parking space and was going 3 mph. To think, I even drove this car from San Francisco to Vegas last week.. With a packed car. I even replaced bj 3yrs ago with Moog parts and only put 25k.. That doesn't sound right. I also just had alignment 3 weeks. Well, I just thank god no one was hurt.

Glad that you are ok. For some reason, I've only read of these lbj's breaking with people going low speeds, which is a good thing. Are you sure that these are Moog products? I don't see the zerk grease fitting. Moog lbj's come with the zerk fitting. Hopefully this wasn't done at some shady mechanic who stated that they put Moog products on your car and put CRAP CHINA parts on instead while overcharging you.

Glad to see you and your kids are ok. But damn that sucks. Is your car lowered by chance? If so I recommend getting maybe a 20-30mm RCA. This will help take a lot of stress on the LBJs for lowered GS's

Sad. Very dangerous. For all the hate German automakers get for unreliability, I'd rather drive one of those knowing my suspension won't crap on my family. Toyota should have been sued for this crap. You have cheap economic cars that can go for 100k + on the original ball joints.

From what i recall, they only really started using the zerk fitting not too long ago... OP said he got them 3yrs ago, so maybe they were prior to the zerk-fitting standard Moog [now] uses.

Glad you and your fam is safe.
I just replaced my LBJ's & ITR's with moog a couple of months ago.

YaKuZa-GS - Good info, I guess I'm in the market for RCA's.
Do you need rear RCA's too then?

Thanx guys.. my car was slammed on coilovers, but I swapped to stock. So this would be my daily. I'm also thinking if the person who swapped out my coilovers for his swapped my bjs.. cuz mine were newer. I only had about 25k on those bjs. hmm. Just a thought. If that's the case.. that's shady.

Buy the new ones off RockAuto. You can get them super cheap and they're Moog.

Moog has been doing this for quite some time, much longer than 3 years. I think there was some shady stuff going on. Like the OP said in his most recent post, he thinks someone switch out his good lbj's for their old lbj's. There is no zerk fitting so I know that it isn't Moog for sure.

OP, another way to check it out is to see if it has the 555 Japan stamp on it. I've never heard of Moog breaking, especially with only 25k.
