Sewell Front Fitting Kit and Front Shim Kit
Hey fellow CL'ers,
It's time to change my front brakes/rotors and I decided to purchase the required parts off Sewell. I've already ordered the rotors and the brake pads, and they're already on the way. However, Sewell suggests that I also order the Front Fitting Kit and Front Shim Kit:
http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2007/1921.html
http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2007/1918.html
I don't want to overspend (college budget) but if these pieces are necessary to my safety/comfort, I am willing to spend the money. Does anyone here have experience with these items and have information regarding their importance/necessity?
Thanks a bunch, hope to hear soon!
Ben

^Why do you ask?
BTW, to answer the OP's question...no, the fitting and shim kit are not 100% necessary. In fact, when I replaced my front brake pads and rotors I didn't install new "hardware"; just lubed everything up good and everything is still working well to this day.
