Default F-Sport rear sway question?

I have a 2007 IS350 and I just got the Rear Sway bar. I really want to install it but I'm not sure if I have all the tools. I have two jack stands. I have one sway bar with two bushings. Thats all that came in the kit. What other tools do I need to remove the OEM brackets and links? I don't know how many MM sockets to get. Sorry Kind of Newbie.

Also, I also read that we are required to grind out the OEM bushing? Is that correct? I bought a Dremel tool for that process.

Help a Noob please =)

I just installed mine (2008 350) a few nights ago. I used some ramps instead of jacks and had no problems. The sway bar, bushings, and instructions are all that come with it. I was looking for a link to the directions, but Sewell has the 2009 instructions up...

You will only need a ratchet and sockets and you should have a torque wrench. You need two diff sized sockets, make sure you have both before removing any. The bolts on the endlinks are a lot harder to remove, do those first. Remove six bolts total.

I think the bushing grinding was 2009 and later? I didn't have to grind anything. New bushings go in with the cut to the rear of the car.

Good luck!

^^^ +1

The 2009+ requires the grinding of the bushing. For the 2006-2008, no grinding is required.

Have a full socket set and you'll be good to go. Once you get under the car, you'll see how easy it is to install. You basically just unbolt the stock sway bar and put your new one in its place utilizing the stock bolts.

I have a 2011 and (had I not gotten the right kit) would have had to grind out the bushing. Order from Sewell and you will be fine.

I did buy mine on Ebay from Lexus of N Miami and they sent me the one with out the replacement brackets. The brackets are $40 to buy... I returned that one and went Sewell (I hate to buy from Sewell because they are 30 miles from my house, yet i HAVE to pay for shipping and tax - where the ebay dealer was free shipping and no tax).

You need 17mm socket and 12mm socket with breaker bar
That's all you need.
17mm socket use to open end link nuts
12mm socket use to remove bushing holder.
