Default Megan EZ Street Coilover Opinions

I'd like to hear from Megan EZ Street owners how they like their coilover in terms of:
-Range of height adjustments
-Comfort as a daily driver
-Build Quality

Thank you.

If there also happens to be another and better coilover suggestion with a similar price tag, feel free to let me know.

Height adjustments are great
comfort - rides just like stock as far as comfort..
quality - spring rates suck hence the comfort.. lol i bottom out on the smallest bumps..

all in all, for like $600, it's the best thing you can get. lol hope this helps.. i know someone that can get you them too

They're great if you're just wanting some coils to slam and to get going in the game. Spring rates aren't the stiffest. I drove on full stiff and would still bottom out, but i'd have to hit a decent bump.

They do slam to the floor though, so no worries on how low you can go in them. They do the job well. Also ride well too.

Thank you! I am certain these are the coilovers for me. I'm not going to be dumped, but just a moderate drop. Appreciate the update.

I see lots of people run these LOW, but who's ran them at moderate levels? Looking to put them on my fiance's GS ~1" below stock. They sound like a reasonable way to go.

What do you mean by "loading the preload near max setting"

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the damping adjustment.

How can these coils not be "that stiff?" they are rated 10kg/mm front / 8kg/mm rear ? ( or 9/8 ?) and Im currently running tanabe NF210s at 5.6/ 4.something and I never bottom out with a 2inch drop in the front?

Anyone got an explanation?

Im about to change my suspension and looking at megan ezs as an option, but dont want to be bottoming out everywhere.........

That's actually a very good question.

In the Mustang world for instance, the coil spring is located towards the center axis of the car (the strut is located more outside than the spring since it's a McPherson style setup). An aftermarket coilover brings the spring towards the outside of the car changing the wheel rate. As a result, the coilover spring rates are much softer compared to the conventional coil spring.

With the Lexus 2GS, the conventional coil spring and the coilover spring share the same axis, so it's not clear to me why the spring rates on coilovers are typically so much higher than the conventional coil springs...

When I bought my car, it had NF210 springs. After several months I got Megan coilovers and the ride was very similar between the two (with the damper settings somewhere in the middle anyway).
