Default Suggestions Good Rotor/Pad Combo to Help Fade

I feel like my stock rotors/pads have a lot of fade when slowing down from higher speeds. I don't want to go so far as race calipers or a Supra TT brake upgrade. I just would like a good combo for street and a little auto-x use that will take some of that fade out.

Brembo blanks, Hawk HPS pads, steel braided brake lines and synthetic brake fluid.

The steel braided brake lines might affect what class you can compete in, it all depends on how strict the organizers are.

Does brand matter for the SS lines really or are they all pretty much the same?

I was going to try the figs performance pkg 2 and swap out all 4 rotors for autox. Wonder what improvements SS lines would make.

Yeah, we have a few big auto-x events coming up soon so that's why I was looking to upgrade, but didn't want to go nuts.

You don't need to go JDM for SS brake lines. Stoptechs should do the trick. The SS brake lines will give you a firmer pedal feel and should increase brake performance.

What I'm saying is, they have a few eBay brands, like "G-Force Magnum Performamce" and "Proshure", for just over $50 for a complete front and rear set. I was wondering if ones like those were worth getting for that price.

wouldn't hurt to try those cheepy ebay rotors to see how they survive the rigors of daily abuse...

i would personally run either EBC redstuff pads, or porterfield R4S pads... i have not had very good results from hawk HPS...

I had Brembo Blanks on my Trans Am with Hawlk HPS pads. I sold them because I got a good deal on a set of Stoptech slotted (not drilled) zinc coated rotors with Stoptech ceramic pads. They were produced very low dust compared to the Hawk HPS/BB's and that seemed to be slightly better at high speed stops without quite as much fade, but the difference wasn't as dramatic as I had thought it would be. I still had rubber lines on that car though so that may have helped too. I have a buddy with a very lightly used set of slotted rotors and ceramic coated pads (although he says he doesn't know the brand, but thinks they may be Stoptech) he will sell me for $50 for the whole set. Is it worth it? He also has some braided lines he would throw in for another $50. Is this worth getting used and not knowing the brand?

I like the brake upgrade packages offered by Figs Engineering. Just under $1k. Its a complete kit with even the brake fluid included and options to upgrade the rotors themselves.

Those figs kits are made to use Supra TT calipers (which AREN'T included). I'm not looking to spend that much on it or have a track car setup, just something that helps take the fade out of the stock stuff. I'm thinking EBC slotted rotor with Red Stuff pads and stainless lines.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Porterfields, but have also hold that unless they are heated up, their initial bite isn't the best.
