Default 1997 Supra TT springs and struts on My 1997 SC400

Just got a complete set from a supra tt with 70,000mi. I've read some threads on the swap, seems to be a plug and play. The threads were a few years old and everytone seems to differ on how much the car will drop. Some say none, other 1.5 to 2in. Just want some feedback from anyone who's actually done it.

Sorry to say i havent done it but im very interested in how this turns out, im gonna say its safe to assume you should expect a considerable drop from them. Supra stock ride height is about 2 inches lower which can be chalked up to about 1.5 in drop and .5 inch of lip/bodywork

Supra struts and coils do drop the car, I'm on them right now. It's noticeable, at least an inch all around.

That was a previous set-up on Tein Flex. I wanna estimate the Supra struts and coils are quite similar to what you see in the sig. I didn't slam my car on the Flex.

Default 1997 Supra TT springs and struts on my 97 SC400

Thanks for all the replies, I will post before and after pics. I paid 200, found them on craigslist. I actually saw the car they came out of, the guy had just taken them off and was installing a new after maket set on the supra. The supra was still on the lift and he was nice enough to show me what to do, wish did not seem hard at all.

HY!

i installed in my 97+ SC400 a Supra/Bilstein Suspension from a NA Supra. The rear high was ok, little lower, but the springs to weak, i installed new KYB TT Springs. On front, the car was higher! But on the Bilstein shocks, ,you can modifiy the spring seat lower with a engine lathe to go lower. I installed the SC400 springs, the are stiffer and the spring seat are 1,8cm lower as original.

you can look all pictures in my Thread from the modifications: boergys SC400

greets

Tom

i wanna see. but i want to know what size wheels you have. because if u are running the stock 16's or 15's. the drop wont be that apparent. hopefully u got 18s or 19s on it.

This is how to install, it's pretty a simple job. Pic 1. Loosen the 3 14mm strut mount nuts in the engine bay. Pic 2 Then the 19mm nut that holds the strut at the lower control arm. Next so that you have more movement room, remove the the 2 14mm bolts that hold lower strut base.

The rear is prettry much the same exept the strut mount nuts are 12mm, and the bottom strut bolt is much easier to remove with plenty of room. Good luck.

Looks great. What size rims are you running? How is the ride quality of the setup?
