I'm new as well. I'm looking to get down to a 1.5 finger gap with coilovers that are dampening adjustable.

From what I read so far the preferences are (assuming cost no issue)

1. KW
2. BC
3. Megan
4. F-sport?

Can anyone comment on ride quality at the medium dampening setting of the available products? I have no plans to slam or autocross in this car. But I'd like something to give me more confidence on sharp turns. Rear sway bar is a must I know.

Wheel/tire combination and ride height is important when considering coilover spring rates. Through my experience with BC coilovers with 10k/8k spring rates, no finger gap on oem stock wheels and tires have no rubbing issues. With my Volk GT-S with lower offsets, I'm experiencing more rubbing due to the wheel being more out towards the fender. Heat gunning the fender liner at the fender tab area and bending the metal tab corner slightly solved most of the rubbing. I want to go lower (slightly tucking tire) so I have ordered 12k springs for the fronts that will probably be installed this weekend. I noticed having stiffer springs with the damper set softer have a more comfortable ride than lower spring rate springs with the the damper set almost full stiff through my friends cars.

1.5 finger gap? That's still pretty stupid high haha. I'd just go with springs and sways. No need to waste that money on coils if you aren't gonna slam your ish. If you insist on getting coils, then you could go with either BC or Megan. I went with BCs, and I had dampening set to 15 all around. Near stock ride quality when I was slammed - too soft for me tho, so I pretty much went 29/26 on dampening settings. Get em from CircuitMS! He'll hook it up with price, quick shipping, and good customer service!

1.5 Finger gap is fine for coilovers, the ride will actually be a bit better at that height because the stock suspension geometry isn't as thrown off.

I had Tein super street on my tsx prior to my is250. As I get into my late 20s I definitely appreciate a softer ride and not cringing over every bump. That said, I think coilovers offer nice flexibility to adjust to lower height, while also keeping a soft dampening setting. Springs/struts, not as much.

I love love love my HSD coilovers, HSD is the company that Builds alot of other companies coilovers eg Stance hence why they look identical but are green and black vs gold and black

HSD usually retail for $1300 up here in canada I got mine for $1000, they are height adjustable, dampening adjustable and preload adjustable and on full soft rides just like stock

If you get coilovers, you get the adjustability, but how do you get it to the exact height you want it? I wiki'd it but couldn't find the specifics.
