Default Sway Bar Link Tip

Hey guys. I'm currently trying to tighten back up my front Sway Bar Link. The problem is that as I try to tighten the sway bar link, the ball joint is spinning so I cannot get it tightened up. How can I get it tightened up since the ball joint keeps spinning?

I am trying to tighten 48820B At the bottom of the picture.

If I remember correctly you will need an allen key to hold it from turning while tightening it down.

^^ Correct, but for the rear links only. You should not have this problem with the front links, the design is different.

Thanks for the advice, sir. These sway bar links have been giving me trouble. The bolts that held the link to the sway bar snapped in half when I tried to take them off. Then when I put on the new Link and tried to tighten the upper stud (part of the link) to spec it snapped. Now I am going to use a bolt in its place until I get a new stud or full link. Lol, hopefully my luck will turn.

Never mind, guys. Just had to use a wrench on one end until it was tight enough, then we were able to tighten it up from the one side.

Glad you got it worked out. Sorry If I caused any confusion about the "allen key" thing. I was thinking of when I had my IS300. I went and looked at the news links I ordered for the GS and was going to correct my post, but I see you got it fixed.

the OEM REARS on the gs DO use a allan wrench key,i replaced mine with FIGS rear sway bar which no longer uses a allan wrench

These are actually Moog Sway Bar Links. The OEM's cost more than FIGS. I would have bought FIGs but I'm only dropped an inch on springs and I just don't really have a need for them.

Here is the Picture of the Passenger Side Link with the stud still intact:

And here is the Driver Side where the stud had to be replaced with a bolt:

The Moog's were only $25 a piece. If they go bad I will definitely step it up to FIGS but the Moog parts looked like they were of decent quality.

I just bought Moogs as well...all 4 corners...if they last 1/2 as long as my OEMs...I'll be a happy camper. OEM lasted 10+ years.
