Brake booster / MBC squeal
So for a few months now I have been getting this squeal noise that sounds like its coming from my steering column area. It tends to happen right after I brake but it doesn't happen every time I brake. Right before the squeal occurs I can hear and feel the booster buzzing. I also feel a slight vibration on the brake pedal every time it squeals. What do I need to do to get rid of this squeal?

This is the 01-05 corrected part you want, you will have to swap one sensor from your old unit. Hope this helps. I'm going to have to do this soon as I will eventually get lights in the dash and have no abs or vsc. They most likely updated the pumps on the 98-00 part # 47050-30160 but I'm not sure, Darell @ Sewell would most likely know. Then you would not have to swap sensors.

Ouch, that's quite a pricey fix. So 98-00 MBC's are known to have this issue? I can use one from any 01-05 GS300 or GS400 and swap the one sensor over?

I dont have any dash lights either but the squeal is happening like almost every other time I brake to a complete stop. You guys think $350 shipped for a used MBC off a 02 is a good deal?

Hi bonestock5,
Where did you got the part? I have the same symptoms on my '98 GS400.
I found this part on eBay, but it is kind of expensive at $599: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181250023558?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=trueIs this the part you got too?
Thank you.
George.

I ended up paying 450 shipped for an 01 MBC from ebay. Dont get another 98-00 MBC. Get an 01-05 MBC and you will need to re-use one of the sensors off your old MBC.
