Late to the party; L-tuned suspension (from dealer)
Browsing the sewell Lexus website, i was picking up some parts for my '99 GS400. Next on the list are the shocks/springs. Whilst looking under the category of springs, i see the dealer has L-Tuned lowering springs for the GS. Based on teh description, it seems to address the issues i have with the handling of my car: roll through turns, lag in the steering.
I couldn't believe how cheap it was too! 208bucks!!! I go and click to buy two sets but alas...they've been discontinued. I slammed my fist on my desk and rattled my parrot's cage.
Anyway, my question is, and sorry if this has been covered numerous times...what are the best replacements for these types of springs? I was reading here about Tein Coilovers and the like, but i'm looking to pay something similar to what those L-tuned Springs cost. I'm not looking to go to the track or do anythin gcrazy. I'm just looking to address the "wandering" issues of the suspension and to have a little fun on a rainy day - literally.
My shocks are overdue for a replacement (124k) so i'd like to take the opportunity to put in something that will liven up the steering feel.
What is considered to be the replacement for these now defunct L-Tuned Springs?
Thanks in advance.

if you're looking for replacement shocks and springs its going to range about 200+ for springs and about 80-100$ for each shock.
that price will get you really close to one of the cheapest coil-over sets out there. check with the vendors to see what they can do for you. if i remember right a brand new set of bcr coils was around that range for our vehicles and most folks stand by them. if in time when my eibach/kyb combo is due to change i am leaning towards the tein 2's or the bcr with custom soft spring rates just to have the height adjustment when it snows.
but if you decide you only want to do a spring/shock combo like thomasgs4 mentioned above the eibach/kyb or bilstein combo is the next thing near the ltuned. some folks would also say take a look at the tanabe nf210/kyb or bilstein.
