Is Daizen still making Sway Bars for the GS400
Hi
I was doing a search and someone said that Daizen is no longer making Sway Bars for our GS400.
I looked at TM Engineering website and they are still on there.
Sent E-Mail but have no idea when I'll hear back and they don't list a phone number.
I have developed some cracks in the frame on both sides by where the brackets attach to the frame on the front end. Car behaves very badly when going over a bridge joint. Unsafe.
Shop says I should get frame welded and I should replace brackets and bushings at the same time. Not sure if stiffer sways are causing the cracks in
frame but cheaper to replace Bushings and Brackets than to replace with Lexus OE Sways
Anyone else experience or deal with similiar situation.
Thanks

My buddy (cliffud) had the same thing happen just recently, the brackets (big ones that connect the sway bar to the frame) cracked and his front sway bar was basically hanging on by the endlinks. He got new brackets again and problem was solved. I'm guessing it has to do with the sway bars because he has Daizens. But he drives the crap out of his car every day so that could be part of the reason too.
Good luck either way, I think the part numbers are different for the 98-00 and 01-05 because the bolt hole was bigger for the ones my friend replaced them with. His GS is a 98. He was able to find some used ones at a junkyard. New from the dealer are about $45 each side. I think the part numbers are:
Right Side
48809‑30040 JZS160, UZS161 (08/1997 - 10/2001)
48809‑30041 JZS160, UZS161 (11/2001 - )
Left Side
48807‑30020 JZS160, UZS161 (08/1997 - 10/2001)
48807‑30021 JZS160, UZS161 (11/2001 - )

Sways
I guess I was not clear in my first post.
The car currently has Daizen Sways.
Shop said I should get new brackets and bushings for the Daizens.
If I can't get them maybe I can just reuse the ones that are on there.
If Daizen is no longer making these Sways then they might not be making the brackets or bushings and that is what I'm looking for.
Of course I'm also wondering if there is some cause or effect between the Daizen Sways and the cracks. So that has me wondering if I should just go back to stock sways on that car.
I've got TRD Blue Sways on my other car and they are much stiffer and beefier and I have not had any problem with them.
I haven't heard anyone say the Sways are to blame maybe maybe not.
Thanks
